Medium Voltage Training Center has been making a full-time contribution to more safety for 10 years

Back in 2008, confronted with a rising number of technical disturbances on medium voltage networks due to mistakes made during the installation of accessories, Nexans decided to share its long-standing expertise through a newly set-up Training Center.  Experience has shown that errors in the installation of accessories are the cause of more than one third of technical failures. With the MVTC training courses, Nexans wanted to make an important contribution to the prevention of costly power cuts that can have serious consequences both locally in companies, cities and municipalities, and in wider, often cross-border regions.

Initially, the trainers were assigned on an ad hoc basis from the Nexans High Voltage Installation Team. The fact that there was a real need for medium-voltage training with an emphasis on safety and reliability was quickly demonstrated by the ever-growing number of training courses given. So much so that barely three years later, in 2011, the MVTC engaged a full-time trainer.

This year, in 2021, we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the MVTC as we know it today. A professionally run training centre where jointers and installers can regularly update their theoretical and practical knowledge of medium-voltage networks and accessories. The training courses at the Nexans MVTC result in a thorough knowledge of products, their composition and their operation, of electrical phenomena and the risks associated with the work. 

Initially aimed at practical work on underground medium-voltage systems, the MVTC also provides theoretical training for engineers or site supervisors. Testament to the value of the training courses, clients also call on the MVTC when they are carrying out projects abroad and want to ensure that local teams also work safely and reliably.
